Major Roads for Noise Directive
This dataset identifies the major roads in Malta designated under EU Directive 2002/49/EC on the assessment and management of environmental noise. These are the roads for which strategic noise maps must be produced, in line with the directive's requirements for monitoring and managing noise exposure from major transport infrastructure. The dataset is published by the Planning Authority and provides a spatial layer of the relevant road network, supporting noise assessment and mapping activities at the national level for Malta.This layer shows the major roads defined for Malta according to the requirements of Directive 2002/49/EC relating to the assessment and management of environmental noise. These are the roads for which strategic noise maps are produced.
