This dataset provides catchment boundaries for lakes assessed under the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), which sets a framework for protecting and managing surface waters and groundwaters. A new WFD lake catchment layer was created in 2022, delineating catchments for every WFD lake from its outflow upstream to the catchment's furthest extent, with nested sub-catchments included.
