MSFD Descriptor 8: Contaminants in Water and Sediment
This dataset provides measurements of contaminant concentrations in marine waters and sediment around Malta, collected under the EMFF 8.3.1 Project. Monitoring follows Malta's factsheets for Descriptor 8 (Contaminants) of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), which addresses pollution levels in the marine environment. The data is published by the Planning Authority Malta and delivered via a WMS service, supporting assessment of marine water quality and compliance with MSFD monitoring obligations at national level.This dataset includes the concentration of contaminants in marine waters as monitored under the EMFF 8.3.1 Project. The monitoring was undertaken in line with Malta's monitoring factsheets for the MSFD Directive.
