Old Age beneficiaries and benefits
This dataset provides statistics on old-age beneficiaries and associated social protection benefits in Malta, compiled according to the ESSPROS (European System of integrated Social Protection Statistics) Manual issued by Eurostat. ESSPROS aims to provide a comprehensive, realistic and coherent description of social protection expenditure across schemes, enabling comparison of benefit types and beneficiary numbers over time. The data is published as open government data, listed under the national data portal, with Planning Authority Malta as publisher, and can be used to examine trends in old-age social protection provision within Malta's broader social welfare system.The data on expenditure under the various social protection schemes are drawn up according to the ESSPROS (European System of integrated Social Protection Statistics) Manual issued by Eurostat.
