MSFD Descriptor 1 and 6: BENTIX, CARLIT and PREI
This dataset provides results for the BENTIX, CARLIT and PREI indices, which assess marine benthic habitat and coastal biological quality. The data was collected under the EMFF 8.3.1 Project and monitored in accordance with Malta's monitoring factsheets for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), specifically addressing Descriptors 1 (biodiversity) and 6 (seafloor integrity). The dataset is published by the Planning Authority of Malta and covers national marine waters, supporting assessment of ecological status and compliance with MSFD monitoring obligations.This dataset includes results for the BENTIX, CARLIT and PREI indices.
