This dataset presents GIS-based modelling assessments produced under the PUROHELMI project on the degree of alteration from natural state of small stream habitats and their benthic macroinvertebrate fauna in Finland. The assessment of habitat naturalness is based on the stream inventory method developed by Metsähallitus (Hyvönen et al. 2005). The data supports evaluation of ecological condition and human-induced alteration of small watercourses, providing a spatial basis for identifying streams of high natural value and informing conservation and restoration planning at the national level.Aineisto kuvaa PUROHELMI-hankkeessa tuotettuja paikkatietopohjaisia mallinnusarvioita pienten virtavesien habitaatin ja pohjaeläinlajiston luonnontilan muuttuneisuudesta.
