This dataset from the Wind Atlas of Switzerland provides modelled data on the frequency of meteorological icing at 100 metres above ground level across Switzerland. Icing is most relevant in mountainous regions such as the Jura, the Alps and the Alpine foothills, which are otherwise well suited to wind energy exploitation but where sub-zero winter temperatures can cause ice to form on measuring instruments and turbine rotor blades.
