This dataset provides a network representation of Finland's rivers and streams, published by the Finnish Environment Institute (Suomen ympäristökeskus, SYKE). It is based on the National Land Survey of Finland's topographic database from 2000-2008 (scale 1:5,000-1:10,000). SYKE constructed the network structure by adding centerlines through area-represented rivers to the linear river features and connecting these across lake crossings, producing a continuous, topologically connected watercourse network suitable for hydrological analysis and mapping.Uomaverkosto pohjautuu Maanmittauslaitoksen maastotietokannan vuosien 2000-2008 aineistoon (1:5 000-1:10 000).
