This dataset delineates Finland's fell areas, covering the mountain birch zone and the treeless 'paljakka' zone located north of and above the continuous coniferous forest line. A consistent, unambiguous definition of fell areas supports national and international assessments related to fells, as well as land-use, climate, and other planning and environmental work.
