This dataset identifies priority areas within the Loire Estuary SAGE (local water management plan) territory in France where maintaining or restoring grassland is a management priority. It responds to an observed trend toward expansion of arable farming on certain parts of the territory, at the expense of grassland, which increases the risk of nutrient and pesticide inputs and their transfer into watercourses. The data supports agricultural and water-management planning aimed at limiting these pressures.
