This dataset delineates the retro-littoral marshes within the boundary of the Loire Estuary SAGE (local water management plan), a coastal planning area in the Pays de la Loire region of France. Retro-littoral marshes are flat, low-lying coastal areas with poor drainage that are frequently flooded, and whose ecology, land use, infrastructure and landscapes are strongly shaped by this hydrological regime.
