This dataset provides the 2014 legal population figures for French municipalities (communes), published by INSEE (French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) and in effect since 1 January 2017, with statistical reference date of 1 January 2014. It includes municipal population counts, defined as persons having their usual residence within the municipality's territory, in a housing unit or in a community facility.
