This dataset lists heritage (patrimonial) plant species recorded in 2016 within the Areas of Ecological Interest (Milieux Naturels d'Intérêt Écologique, MNIE) across the Pays de Rennes area. The MNIE inventory was launched in the 1990s on the initiative of elected officials of the former Rennes District as a voluntary effort to better account for biodiversity across the territory. Over time it has substantially enriched knowledge of local natural habitats and species.
