CAREMaërl: Location of the truths on the ground - Sector "National Park of Port-Cros"
Location of field truths carried out in November 2024 and March 2025 along the video transects by sampling sled during the CAREMaërl sea campaign in the Port-Cros National Park sector. This project took place within the framework of Action D1 of the Life Marha project. The objective of this project is twofold: - Mapping the habitats at maërl and rhodoliths on the Mediterranean coast to the isobath 60 metres deep, in order to make it possible to establish an inventory of the distribution of these habitats; - Evaluate the health status of these habitats on sectors in the Mediterranean through a protocol carried out in hyperbaric diving, by photo identification and determination of the species associated with the different study sectors. The towed video system (5 cameras) allowed the live viewing and annotation in the cabin of an oceanographic vessel and a geolocated recording of all observations made during the campaign on transects regularly spaced between the lower limit of the posidonia herbarium (around -25 m in the southern region) and the isobath of -60 meters.
