CAREMaërl: Map of habitats in rhodolithes - Sector "Parc national des Calanques"

APIReferenceSubscribe🇫🇷France

Mapping of movable backgrounds is rhodolith habitats resulting from the CAREMaërl project in the "Parc national des Calanques" sector carried out as part of the D1 action of the Life Marha project. The objective of this project is twofold: - Mapping the habitats at maërl and rhodoliths on the Mediterranean coast to the isobath 60 metres deep, in order to make it possible to establish an inventory of the distribution of these habitats; - Evaluate the health status of these habitats on sectors in the Mediterranean through a protocol carried out in hyperbaric diving, by photo identification and determination of the species associated with the different study sectors. The towed video system (5 cameras) allowed the live viewing and annotation in the cabin of an oceanographic vessel and a geolocated recording of all observations made during the campaign on transects regularly spaced between the lower limit of the posidonia herbarium (around -25 m in the southern region) and the isobath of -60 meters. The typology used for this project is the "National Typology of Mediterranean Benthic Biocenosis (NatHab-Med)". The attribute table follows the HABITAT layer model of the OFB. Layer name: ecomedpncalacaremaerl2025ofbpol_2154.
