Wind energy plants
This dataset provides information on wind energy plants in Switzerland, published by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (BFE) as part of Swiss Confederation open data. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy of moving air into mechanical energy via rotating blades, which a generator then converts into electricity. The dataset traces the development of wind power in the country, starting with the first Swiss wind energy facility, commissioned in 1986 near Soolhof Farm in Langenbruck.
