This dataset, published by the Finnish Meteorological Institute, provides monthly mean temperature and precipitation values interpolated onto a 1km by 1km grid across Finland, covering data from 1961 onward. The interpolation uses the Kriging method, implemented with the gstat package in R, with lake coverage, sea proximity, and the square root of elevation used as explanatory variables.
