This dataset provides digital geometry describing land use across the Netherlands as recorded in 2017. It distinguishes categories such as traffic areas, buildings, recreation areas, and indoor and outdoor water bodies. Boundaries are largely derived from the Top10NL (BRT) topographic dataset, with aerial photograph interpretation taking precedence where discrepancies occur. Data collection took place in the summer of 2017, and a successor edition covering 2021 was scheduled for publication in 2023. The dataset is published via PDOK, with Kadaster as the responsible institution, and forms part of a series of periodic national land-use inventories used for spatial analysis and monitoring of environmental and territorial change.The Soil Use File 2017 contains digital geometry of land use in the Netherlands.
