This dataset provides the 2012 edition of France's Graphic Parcel Register (RPG), a geographic information system for identifying agricultural parcels, established under EC Regulation No 1593/2000. It is derived from annual area declarations submitted by farmers, including boundaries of crop islands and the crops grown. Islands are digitized at 1:5000 scale on IGN aerial orthophotography and updated yearly. The published data, per metropolitan department, give anonymized island boundaries in Shapefile vector format, projected in Lambert 93, with each island's majority crop group code. It is maintained by the Agence de services et de paiement (ASP).Community Regulation (EC) No 1593/2000 introduced an obligation in all Member States to locate and identify agricultural parcels.To meet this requirement, France has set up the Graphic Parcel Register (GPR), which is a geographical information system for identifying agricultural parcels. Thus, each year, farmers send the administration an area declaration file which includes, in particular, the drawing of the growing islands they use and the crops grown there. The location of the islands is done at the scale of 1:5000 on the photographic background of the Ortho comic (IGN) and their update is annual. This database is therefore a large-scale and regularly updated description of the majority of agricultural land.The data available through Etalab, for a given metropolitan department, are the contours of the "anonymized" islands of the RPG and their cultural occupation represented by the majority crop group of the island. These raw data, in vector mode, are encoded in files in Shapefile format according to a data model described in an associated file.The geometry of the islets is in Latitude/Longitude in the Lambert 93 projection system.The winning content provided is the value of the code of the majority crop group in the islet.
