This dataset lists broadband expansion projects at schools that received co-financing from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and final approval from the German federal government. Fibre-optic network development is primarily a market task, but in areas where operators cannot justify investment, federal and state governments jointly fund expansion under the Federal Broadband Development Programme launched in 2015. The dataset is published by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia.
