This dataset presents a landscape character assessment covering Northumberland, describing the distinct and recognisable patterns of natural and human elements that distinguish one area of landscape from another. It draws on variations in geology, soils, landform, land use, vegetation, field boundaries, settlement patterns and building styles to define and classify different landscape character types and areas.
