This dataset provides the social position index (IPS) for middle schools within the Rennes académie (Brittany region), an indicator used to assess the social background of pupils based on the occupations and social categories (PCS) of their parents. For each PCS, the IPS assigns a numerical value summarizing a set of socio-economic and cultural attributes associated with that category.
