This dataset provides digitized historical city maps of Duisburg, dating back to the 18th century. Because Duisburg only took its present form in 1975, following the incorporation of the left bank of the Rhine and Walsum, older maps do not always cover the full current municipal area. Where maps exist for formerly independent districts, such as Rheinhausen, these are included separately, reflecting the historical boundaries in place at the time each map was produced.
