This API provides a simplified version of geographic boundary data originally issued by IGN (France's national mapping and forestry institute) as part of the ADMIN EXPRESS product. The department-level boundaries of metropolitan France have been simplified using the Douglas-Peucker algorithm with a tolerance parameter of 0.03, while preserving topology.
