Benthic Broad Habitat Type
This dataset provides a collated seabed classification and marine habitats layer for Ireland's waters, derived primarily from multibeam echosounder data and seabed sampling collected under the INFOMAR and INSS national seabed mapping programmes. Areas lacking multibeam coverage are supplemented using other available data sources. The dataset classifies the seabed into broad benthic habitat types, supporting marine spatial planning and habitat mapping.
