This WMS service, published by the Planning Authority of Malta, provides spatial data on the distribution of habitat types reported under Article 17 of the EU Habitats Directive. Member States are required to report every six years on progress in implementing the Directive, whose main aim is maintaining or restoring a favourable conservation status for habitat types and species of Community interest. The dataset maps the geographic distribution of these habitats within Malta, supporting national reporting obligations and enabling integration with other planning and environmental datasets through standard OGC web mapping interfaces.Article 17 of the Habitats Directive requires Member States to report every six years about the progress made with the implementation of the Habitats Directive.
