This dataset identifies areas in Upper Lapland (Ylä-Lappi) where snow persisted longer than in the surrounding terrain, derived from Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. Snow patches were detected using Google Earth Engine's Sentinel-2 image archive covering the years 2018–2021, with images compared at two-week intervals across different areas. A pixel was classified as a snow-lingering area based on its snow cover pattern across the observed years.
