Tree Preservation Orders
This dataset lists Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) in Northumberland, published via data.gov.uk. A TPO protects trees of any species (excluding hedges, bushes, or shrubs) and can apply to a single tree, a group, or an entire woodland. Carrying out unauthorised works, such as felling, topping, lopping, uprooting, or wilful damage, on a protected tree without the local authority's consent is a criminal offence.
