This dataset presents a synthesis of the Geneva Ecological Infrastructure (Infrastructure Ecologique, IE), aggregated on a 50-metre grid across the canton. It stems from Aichi Target 11 of the CBD's global Strategic Plan (2010), adopted by the Swiss Confederation and the Swiss Biodiversity Strategy (SBS30), which calls for placing 17% of high-quality terrestrial habitat under protected status. The layer supports identification and planning of ecologically valuable areas needed to build a coherent network of protected and connected habitats within Geneva.
