This dataset presents the statistical sectors of the canton of Geneva, Switzerland, extended to include lake areas. The canton's territory is divided into sectors to provide aggregated statistical data at an intermediate geographic scale between the commune and smaller local units. In this extended version, lakeside sectors include the adjoining surface of the lake within their boundaries, rather than excluding it. The dataset is published by the Système d'information du territoire genevois (Geneva territorial information system) and is intended for use in spatial analysis and statistical reporting at the sector level within the canton.The division of the territory of the canton of Geneva into sectors makes it possible to make available aggregated statistical data on an intermediate scale.
