This API provides access to a soil-based site typology for biotope development in the German state of Hesse, derived from the 1:50,000 soil area data set (BFD50, second development stage). That underlying data set describes soils, their properties and soil functions at regional scale across Hesse. The typology identifies areas with particular or extreme site conditions relevant to the development of biotopes.
