This dataset presents the geographic boundaries of classified sites ('sites classés') located within the Île-de-France region. Under the French Environmental Code, a classified site is a natural or built area, or a remarkable natural formation, whose artistic, historical, scientific, legendary, or scenic character warrants legal protection to preserve it from damage or alteration. The dataset allows identification and mapping of these protected areas, supporting land-use planning, environmental assessment, and heritage conservation efforts across the region.
