This dataset provides the 2022 edition of France's Graphic Parcel Register (RPG), a geographic information system identifying agricultural parcels, established to meet EU Regulation (EC) No 1593/2000 requirements for locating farmland. It is derived from farmers' annual area declarations, with growing islands mapped at 1:5000 scale on IGN orthophotography and updated yearly. The dataset covers anonymized parcel contours and their majority crop group, enriched with crop-type labels, postal codes, and INSEE codes via spatial analysis in QGIS, with a specific zoom on the Basque Country. It is published via the Plateforme Open Data ZABAL, with links to the original unprocessed data and documentation on data.gouv.fr and IGN Géoservices.Community Regulation (EC) No 1593/2000 introduced an obligation in all Member States to locate and identify agricultural parcels. To meet this requirement, France has set up the Register Parcellaire Graphique (RPG) which is a geographical information system allowing the identification of agricultural parcels. Thus, each year, farmers send the administration an area declaration file which includes, in particular, the drawing of the growing islands they use and the crops grown there. The location of the islands is done at the scale of 1:5000 on the photographic background of the Ortho comic (IGN) and their update is annual. This database is therefore a large-scale and regularly updated description of the majority of agricultural land. The available data are the contours of the "anonymized" islands of the RPG and their cultural occupation represented by the majority crop group of the island.
