Quarterly statistics of the population taken care of in a closed environment
This dataset provides quarterly statistics on people held in closed correctional facilities in France, published by the Ministère de la Justice. It includes national data as of the first day of each quarter, broken down by age, sex, nationality, education level, offense category, sentence length, and crime type, as well as inflow and outflow figures for the previous quarter with reasons for entry and exit. Data collection methods changed over time: manual collection before April 2014, no publication between April 2014 and January 2017, and automated collection via the GENESIS management software since January 2017.This statistic contains data on the population in prisons in France: — national data on the 1st day of each quarter (distribution by age, sex, nationality, educational attainment, criminal category, quantum, crime) — national inflow data for the previous quarter (Distribution of incoming and outgoing in the quarter by reason) Prior to April 2014, these statistics were produced from manual collections from establishments. Since January 2017, they are powered by GENESIS (Management Software) data. Between these two dates, these statistics have not been published.
