Near Real Time Rivers Ecology Monitoring Results
This dataset provides near real-time results from ecological monitoring of Irish rivers, published by the Environmental Protection Agency. It builds on a long-running tradition of national river surveys conducted continuously since 1971, when an initial survey covered 2,900 km of river channel. The original National Rivers Monitoring Programme has since been replaced by the Water Framework Directive Monitoring Programme, which structures ongoing ecological assessment of river water bodies across Ireland.
