Modelled occurrence probability for Coralligenous habitats across the Mediterranean Sea
This dataset provides modelled spatial distributions of coralligenous outcrops and maerl beds across the Mediterranean Sea, accessible as a WMS layer via a geoserver maintained by the Region of Crete. Coralligenous formations are typical Mediterranean underwater habitats built up by coralline algae growing under low-light conditions, forming complex bioconstructions of ecological importance.
