Modelled occurrence probability for Posidonia oceanica meadows across the Mediterranean Sea
Published by Region of Crete
This dataset is an output of the Mediterranean Sensitive Habitats (MEDISEH) project, published via a Region of Crete geoserver. It provides, in raster format, a modelled probability of occurrence for Posidonia oceanica meadows across the Mediterranean Sea. Posidonia oceanica is a seagrass species endemic to the Mediterranean, where it forms the dominant and most extensive seagrass habitat, playing a key ecological role in coastal ecosystems. The layer supports marine spatial planning, habitat mapping, and conservation assessments by indicating areas where this sensitive habitat is likely to be present, based on modelled spatial distribution rather than direct field survey observations alone.”}This dataset is an output of the “Mediterranean Sensitive Habitats” project (MEDISEH). It shows under a raster form modelled spatial distributions of Posidonia oceanica across the Mediterranean Sea.
