Mineral Safeguarding Area
Dataset defining Mineral Safeguarding Areas as set out in the Site Specific Policies Local Plan, adopted 12 September 2012. These areas identify known, economically viable mineral deposits and essential mineral infrastructure that need to be protected from incompatible development. The Local Plan uses these designations to safeguard mineral resources for future extraction, ensuring that non-mineral development does not needlessly sterilise access to them.
