Geonames - All Cities with a population > 1000
This dataset lists all cities worldwide with a population greater than 1000, or that are administrative division seats, totaling approximately 80,000 places. It is derived from GeoNames, which aggregates data from over a hundred different sources and is maintained with contributions from volunteer ambassadors in many countries, plus a wiki allowing users to view records and correct errors or add missing information.
