This dataset provides the official legal population figures for municipalities (communes) in metropolitan France, compiled from population censuses conducted in 1968, 1975, 1982, 1990, 1999, and annually from 2006 to 2014. It also covers communes in the overseas departments (excluding Mayotte), as well as Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
