Daytime population (number of workplaces) according to SNI 2007, 2022- - Statistical data for Malmö's areas
This API provides statistical data on the daytime population of Malmö's areas, broken down by workplace industry according to the Swedish Standard Industrial Classification (SNI) 2007, from 2022 onward. It shows the number of employed people aged 15–74 registered in Sweden, categorized by industry sector and gender, with smaller industry groups merged into an "Other" category due to low counts. Data derives from SCB's BAS register, replacing the previous RAMS source starting in 2022, which causes a break in the time series; comparisons across this transition should be made cautiously. The dataset is maintained by Malmö municipality's open data platform.}Shows the industry in which the employed people working in the area work. The division follows the Standard for Swedish Industrial Classification (SNI) 2007. The categories O (unknown), A (agriculture, hunting and forestry), B (extraction of materials), D (supply of electricity, gas, heating and cooling), E (water supply etc.), T (household production etc.) and U (activity at international organizations) have been merged into the category "Other" due to the low number of people working in these industries. The variable also shows the total number of people working in the area. The variable is divided by gender. The statistics include all individuals between 15 and 74 who are registered in Sweden on 31 December. A large number of people working in an area are required to be able to break down the group into the different SNI categories. The SNI categories can therefore only be reported for a few sub- areas. Based on statistics from BAS ("Labour Market Status of the Population"). Starting with the reference year 2022, a new data source is used as SCB switches data source to BAS from the previous RAMS ("Register-based labour market statistics"). There are differences between how RAMS defines gainfully employed and how BAS defines employed. For example, RAMS classifies those who work in Denmark as not gainfully employed, while in BAS they are counted as employed under certain circumstances. There is therefore a time series break for this time series starting with data from 2022. The change of source and method means that comparisons of statistics regarding daytime population in 2022 and previous reference years must be made with great caution. Read more at SCB.se.
