This API provides access to a map of erosion risk for agricultural and vineyard land in the Geneva area, published by the Système d'information du territoire genevois (SITG). Erosion of farmed surfaces is a concern for economic and ecological reasons, since the annual rate of soil formation is low: losses of around one tonne per hectare already cause an irreversible reduction in the rooting volume available to plants.
