Amphibians appendix 3
This dataset, part of a series published by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (BAFU/FOEN), lists amphibian species and sites corresponding to Appendix 3 of a national reference document. Switzerland hosts 19 native amphibian species, nearly all of which appear on the Red List of Threatened Species. Wetland habitats essential to their survival have shrunk to less than one-tenth of their historical extent over the past century, making remaining sites, including those documented in this appendix, important for conservation planning and protection efforts at the national level.
