This API provides the geographic location of pre-emption zones delimited under the Sensitive Natural Areas (Espaces Naturels Sensibles, ENS) policy in the Loire-Atlantique department, France. Under the French Urban Planning Code, departments are responsible for defining and implementing a policy to protect, manage and open to the public natural sites, landscapes and ecosystems of ecological or scenic value. Within these pre-emption zones, the department holds a right of first refusal on land transactions, allowing it to acquire land to safeguard biodiversity and habitats.
