Dataset identifying Slovenia's water areas (river basin districts), the basic units for water management under the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) and the national Water Act. A water area is a legally defined area comprising one or more neighbouring river basins together with their associated groundwater and coastal waters, assigned to a river basin district as the main unit for water management planning.
