Vegetation height model NFI
This API provides countrywide vegetation height models (VHM) for Switzerland, derived from stereo aerial images acquired by the Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo). A digital surface model (DSM) with 1 × 1 m spatial resolution is first processed from ADS-80/100 sensor data, which is then normalized against terrain elevation to yield vegetation height values. The dataset is published by the Swiss Confederation's Federal Office for the Environment (BAFU) and supports national forest inventory (NFI) work, forestry planning, and environmental monitoring across Switzerland.
