This dataset defines the volumetric unit, the elementary volume associated with a building. A volumetric unit represents a constructed body whose top is delimited either by a real flat surface, such as a flat roof, or by an ideal flat surface used to define the notional volume of the structure. The dataset is part of a geographic information system used to model building geometry and supports cartographic and technical representation of the built environment.
