Territorial and Internal Waters
This dataset defines the territorial and internal waters of Malta. Originally provided by CSD in WGS 84, the data was subsequently transformed by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) into the ETRS89TM33 coordinate reference system. ERA processed the dataset to support reporting obligations arising under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. The dataset is published via the Planning Authority and is relevant for marine spatial planning, environmental monitoring, and regulatory reporting concerning Malta's maritime jurisdiction.
