MIDAS is a Polish national system for collecting and providing information on mineral deposits, mining areas and mining terrains, and for storing data on related concessions. It is maintained by the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PIG-PIB) as part of its statutory duties, supporting the preparation of the national Mineral Resources Balance under the Geological and Mining Law (Article 162).
