Smoke Control Areas
This dataset identifies smoke control areas designated in Northumberland, part of a wider UK system created to reduce smoke emissions from domestic fires. Within these areas it is illegal to emit smoke from a chimney unless an authorised smokeless fuel is burned or an exempt appliance, such as a fire, stove, boiler, cooker or heater, is used.
